Chiefs Sign 7 to "Reserve/Futures" Contracts
 

The practice squad guys signed on for next year. Pretty standard but sometimes a guy will go to a different team for whatever reason. Just a good deal for competition reasons for a guy like Horne who Tucker play his way into his spot. Will get to see if Horne improved his skills to add to his speed. See if Micah Johnson can stay healthy, he has potential as a thumper at the Mike Backer behind Belcher. Also Harris and assuming asamoah starts and Niswanger signs somewhere else, Harris could be a backup at all 3 inside spots.

Not really all that news worthy but it's that time of year.

Chiefs Sign 7 to "Reserve/Futures" Contracts
Two days after being eliminated from the playoffs, the Kansas City Chiefs have begun preparations for 2011 by signing seven members of their practice squad to "Reserve/Future" contracts on Tuesday, a league source confirmed this evening.

Signing for 2011 were wide receiver Jeremy Horne, tight end Cody Slate, offensive tackle Robert Greenwood, guard Darryl Harris, and linebackers Justin Cole, Micah Johnson, and Pierre Walters.

First-year defensive lineman Dion Gales, who has spent much of the past two seasons on the Chiefs' practice squad, has not yet agreed to terms.

Pierre Walters is my homie.

Thought he looked better or more at easy playing standing up in the preseason than his rook year. Can always use another pass rusher at OLB.

I don't even know what that means.

I'd like to see them bring back TE Leroy Banks. Guy needs to add a bunch of stregnth but he did make some plays and knows how to get open.
