Back by popular demand, this is the 2011 version of the Royals Repository Thread. Get ready for another year of really bad baseball as we patiently wait for one of the greatest farm systems in modern MLB history to send mega-hyped prospects up to Omaha and beyond.

Everything goes here except Gameday threads and really big news. If a giant story breaks, the Royals achieve some awesome milestone, or we sign/lose a highly significant player/coach/mascot/whatever, then it might also deserve its own thread. This being Chiefs Planet, please do not clutter the board with new threads about trivial Royals news or you will only annoy those who come here for just Chiefs football. If you aren't sure and its not a Gameday thread, it goes here.

I started this because I wanted to remove any possibility that I might start the 2012 thread, and thus avoid the blame if the prospects all suck, DM gets fired, we lose 100 games in 2012, and the franchise gets moved to Oregon.

That rotation does not seem good at all.

I follow baseball as much as I follow football.

Minor news: Alex Gordon took a tiny raise to avoid arbitration. $1.15MM last year, $1.4MM this year plus 100k incentives.

We were generous. The Royals could have pushed for no raise at arbitration but what the hell, with Zack gone and ever-increasing levels of revenue sharing we've got plenty of money to light on fire.

Good news: Royals signed LHP Jeff Francis to a 1 yr deal.

Should this be the 2011 Northwest Arkansas Naturals thread?

I saw where they signed Jeff Francis as well. If he's past his arm troubles of the past year and a half he's a damn good pickup.

If he's healthy and is decent, he could be big time trade bait.

heh. At least one-fifth of this thread is going to be Northwest Arkansas-related. Maybe more.

Here is a list of things that excites me about the Royals 2011 season:

He looked good at times in the 2nd half last season but was rocked a few times as well.

If he pitches like a #3 Pitcher for most of the 1st half, getting a prospect or a young player won't be a bad thing.
