Looks to me like a 2x2x2 Rubik's Cube. Its easier to solve 60% of the time, every time.

Did they make such a thing? Until noticing this tonight, I hadn't seen one before. And while the movie in set in the 70s, the 3x3 one didn't hit until the 80's. Just an odd prop selection, and was wondering if there's a story there.

They did not make anything like that at all. Which is why you don't see one pictured within this thread.
