Thread Spinoff: How Many Times Can You Bench 225
Before the fractured lumbar in Dec I could have probably done 16 or 17 reps and I weigh about 200. I might have been able to do it once way back in high school.

Well, in high school I could bench 225 30 times. But, that was after an intensive weight lifting program I attended in Tokyo, and on a strict sushi diet.
|
95 times while running a 4.1 40/CP
|
I bench it about 62 times.
|
Most likely zero.
|
I would be lucky to get 140 up once or twice.

Yay, this will be a fun thread.
 I'm eagerly awaiting the "What's The Circumference Of Your Ballsack Thread". |
Don't know. When I lift, I only use dumbbells.

With one hand or two?

Seriously, I stopped lifting heavy weights after my daughter was born in 2008. With the birth of a child, there's only so much time in the day and I've essentially only had time for cardio since (and trust me, my wife is VERY happy that I stopped lifting. I was beginning to look like a member of Jersey Shore, minus the tan and the lid).
That said, I was finishing up my third set of three (Bigger, Faster, Stronger Program) with 295 when I quit. I'd get to the point where I'd warm up with 10 reps of 225 and a occasionally, I'd do 15 reps. So in all honesty, I have no idea. And before Hootie or any other numbskull checks in, my 40 time was not improved by my bench press. |
best I did was 31 times back when I was 30, I'm 38 now I can only do it 16 times.
|
When I was 20 I was huge into lifting, played a ton of basketball was going to play fooz ball and hoops at a small D3 school. I worked with 225 as a warm up set, if I had to guess how many I could do until failure, probably 25 or so. I ended up tearing my rotator cuff attempting to bench 450, and that ended my heavy lifting days. Now I bet I could only do it 7 or 8 times maybe even less, my shoulder is still pretty fubar.

If me and DaFace get together, we might be able to max that shit out at 1.
