My best guess at a 1st Round Mock
Bring it, you ****s.
I predict a very heavy run on QB's in the first round this year, as there are so many teams with needs, and even though there are 3 "FA" QB's available (VY, DM, KC-via trade) no one can rely on FA pick ups until this lockout ends. Pretty risky. Even the teams who do pick up those FA's will still need QBOTF's. It's impossible to guess all the trades, but I went with two. Carolina: CAM NEWTON Denver: MARCEL DAREUS Buffalo: VON MILLER Cincinnati: BLAINE GABBERT Arizona: CHRISTIAN PONDER Cleveland: A.J. GREEN San Francisco: PATRICK PETERSON Tennessee: NICK FAIRLEY Dallas: TYRON SMITH Washington: JULIO JONES Houston: PRINCE AMUKAMARA Minnesota: DA'QUAN BOWERS Detroit: NATE SOLDER St. Louis: COREY LIUGET Miami: MARK INGRAM Jacksonville: CAMERON JORDAN New England: J.J. WATT San Diego: RYAN KERRIGAN New York Giants: MIKE POUNCEY Tampa Bay: AKEEM AYERS Kansas City: MOHAMMAD WILKERSON Indianapolis: ANTHONY CASTONOZO Philadelphia: JIMMY SMITH New Orleans: CAMERON HEYWARD Seattle: JAKE LOCKER Baltimore: AARON WILLIAMS Atlanta: PHIL TAYLOR **Buffalo (via NE): TRADES UP; BUFFALO SELECTS RYAN MALLETT Chicago: GABE CARIMI New York Jets: JUSTIN HOUSTON Pittsburgh: DANNY WATKINS **Washington (via GB): TRADES UP; WASHINGTON SELECTS ANDY DALTON |

Cameron Jordan got picked twice and Ponder went fifth overall. I can't even insult stupidity like that.

And I think Ponder will jump like a Mo****a |
I'd like the Bolts to pick Cam Jordan twice just to make sure they got him. BTW - Arizona won't be taking a QB unless they fire their HC prior to the draft.

- Ponders' injury history will keep him out of the first round
- If Miami doesn't trade out of 16 they won't pick Ingram (too high) - The Giants have Snee at guard. I don't see them taking a guard in the first while he's on the roster. I have many other opinions but we'll both be wrong if I keep going. This is a hard Draft to predict. Nice try though... |

He is 315, and thats larger than a lot of the NT prospects. He also plays very, very fast, has great hand work and style, and gets penetration. Furthermore, he can adjust and make the tackle in the backfield rather than letting the RB fly by him. I think he would fit well with Pioli's obvious desire to increase team speed, and he would help Tamba (and Studebaker) a ton by penetrating from the center. I think that one pick increases our sack total by 10. Not necessarily caused by him directly, but indirectly. Also, with the additional pressure, we don't have to rely so heavily on blitzes from the secondary, even though Berry is murderous on those. |
What just happened? Mocks like this make my head hurt

I tried to go with some non-traditional picks, and provided explanation. Put yours up, HR! |
Why oh why does every single trade scenario always involve New England? That should be made a rule in the new CBA agreement... "No more ******* trades where New England winds up with multiple 1st rounders in future years".

Explanation on why I have a lot of QB's, and explanation on why I went with two random ass trades: Quote:

AZ is very desperate at QB. They are also in great shape at WR, so the big 2 WR's don't make sense. They could go defense here, sure. It would maybe even be the smart move. But I think they want a QB more than they are letting on. Also factor in, a mock is a complete guess anyways. With the top two QB's gone, they are left with Mallett, Dalton, Kaepernick, and Ponder. Ponder has been said to be among the most pro-ready WCO QB prospects, and Arizona runs the WCO. He has impressed throughout the offseason and his stock has gradually risen. Earlier this week, Schefter speculated that as many as 5 QB's would go in the first. They don't go with Mallett because he's a statue and blows coke; They don't go with Dalton because he's a ginger; and they don't go with Kaepernick because they like Ponder more. Never claimed to be an expert, this is just a humble man's attempt at a mock. Each and every year I am shocked at certain picks, why should this year be any different? Ted Ginn, Jr. over Quinn? Tyson Jackson 3rd Overall? Derrick Johnson dropping down the board? Jimmy Claussen to the 3rd? Jordy Nelson in the 2nd? I am always shocked, so I wanted to reflect something shocking in my picks. So there it is. |
