What defensive improvments do you want to see?
 

Romeo introduced the new defense last year and while it was improved from years past we still have a ways to go....what improvements might you Chiefs fans like to see out of the defense this year?


Personally I'd like to see better pass coverage over the middle and more blitzing up the middle.

Fewer yards and points allowed.

A real NT and solid play at Vrabel's spot would make a ton of difference in all areas.

Couple pick-6s every game.

Vrabel was definitely a weak link. Not sure how much playing time Studebaker is going to get though with the new LB we drafted? In any case Andy is much faster than Vrabel so hoefully that makes Hali mroe of a threat.

That shouldn't be too hard, amiright?

More pressure up front, less mistakes in the secondary.

Well, improvement over Vrabel's play won't be a problem.

Getting solid play out of Studebaker or Houston after an abbreviated offseason?

Not likely, IMO.

That spot could definitely be upgraded for 1-2 years until Houston is ready to roll - and that's assuming he ends up being the player we expect him to be.

Overall more consistent pressure/sacks on QB's. At least someone on the opposite end of Hali.

Continue to improve against the run & a lot more effective blitzing.

Become even stronger up the middle. Get a quality run-stopping NT and provide better quality depth at the LB positions.

The ability to stop the run with just the front 7

the only real holes are Tyson Jackson, corners other than the double B's and safety depth. And maybe a linebacker or 2.

If DJ has another strong year and the sophmore's improve even more and get some good production out of a rookie or 2, we are going to be one of the top D's in the league again.
