POLL - Past tense of the word DIVE

Is the past tense of the word 'dive'.......

"he dove for the ball"

"he dived for the ball"

saw this discussion on another forum, and thought i'd see what CP thinks.

No. Either word is appropriate.

Enjoy your birds.

You may be correct. However, they would have to incorporate the word 'y'all' in the sentence.

'Y'all dived fer that there ball, didn'tcha?'

Y'all is singular, by the way.

The plural form of 'y'all' is 'all y'all.'

I could understand some confusion over 'hung' and 'hanged', depending on the circumstance, but 'dove' and 'dived'?
