Scheisse. What a horrible tragedy for the NHL. Ruslan Salei had a couple good years in an Avs sweater as well. :(

Also Karlis Skrastins, who played for the Avs and Preds. The say at least 43 people so far, this is horrible.

Really terrible news. And I imagine not many people will talk about it or take notice.

What is it with NHL players biting the bullet this year? This is depressing

Devils current player Alexander Vasyunov also died. Horrible year so far for the NHL. On top of that their star player has head issues. I hate Crosby, but if I am running the NHL, this year couldn't get much worse. On top of that there will be a CBA issue next year with ex-baseball Union head Donald Fehr running the NHLPA.

Three players have died this summer, Wade Belak, Derek Boogaard and Rick Rypien.
