Curtis Leskanic

Woah. .331 BAC? With his 5 year-old in the car.

We thought we'd never again hear the name of Curt Leskanic, who had all the stuff of a journeyman pitcher despite spending seven years in Colorado. He racked up a DUI this weekend near his Orlando home, but even this might not have put him on our radar if not for the fact that he was almost more alcohol than man.

Sunday evening Leskanic's pickup truck was spotted swerving, and when police arrived he was sitting a green light, dead asleep. Leskanic blew a .331 BAC, more than four times the legal limit. That's Albert Pujols' career batting average. That's very, very drunk, and might explain why Leskanic "became agitated and started screaming," and "was swearing and exhibiting hostile behavior." He was taken to the hospital, then booked on charges of DUI and child neglect?

Why child neglect? Five-year-old Chloe, the light of his life in this "where are they now?" piece from 2008, was sitting shotgun in the pickup truck.

How the **** can you even stand at that point, much less find your keys, your truck, start it and drive it?

I'm more impressed with coming to a stop, passing out, yet keeping your foot pressed on the brake

Are they sure the 5 year old wasn't driving?

What a shit stain. :shake:

.331 implies this was no first time occurrence. Bad judgment occurred well before he did this this time. Shame. Rehab son. Get well.

Oh, c'mon. It was just a night out with the boys /BrianMcRae

Just as a point of reference, it would approximately take 16 beers over a 3 hour timeframe for a 200 pound man to hit the .331 mark.

Chloe failed her Designated Driver duties....

How do you even get that drunk with a kid around? He's not going into bars or strip clubs.

Was he just slurping on the keg in his buddy's garage for 12 hours?

mikey23545 09-14-2011 01:42 PM

Maybe he brought his daughter with him to "Ladies Night" at the bar he was going to, then surreptitiously drank her beers when the staff wasn't looking.

That can't be correct.

You get that drunk when you are a habitual binge drinker no matter who's around. Im going to guess his loved ones have to hide the rubbing alcohol from him. . Not only can he die driving obviously, but he can die during detox. So sad, and extremely dangerous. Rehab and lots of therapy should be on his list of things to do today.

It's just an estimate. I've ran the numbers on 4 different BAC calculators and 16 beers in 3 hours is coming back between .275 and .332.

I'm guessing some sites are using 3.2% alcohol for beer, while others use 5% - which explains the difference.

Either way, that's a buttload of beer in a short amount of time.
