AFCW - so is Oakland going to win it?

Granted... I don't see the AFCW Champion doing anything in the playoffs, barring some fantastic wildcard weekend match-up with another struggling team.

At this point, through week 11:

Raiders 6-4 / 2-2 div (split with Den)
Broncos 5-5 / 2-2 div
Chiefs 4-5* / 2-2 div
Chargers 4-6 / 2-2 div

Raiders remaining: CHI / @ MIA / @ GBP / DET / @ KCC / SDC
Broncos remaining: @ SDC / @ MIN / CHI / NEP / @ BUF / KCC
Chiefs remaining: @ NEP / PIT / @ CHI / @ NYJ / GBP / OAK / @ DEN
Chargers remaining: DEN / @ JAX / BUF / BAL / @ DET / @ OAK

Are the Raiders sitting pretty with only a 1 game lead?

I think the Chiefs have a pretty brutal stretch...
I have no idea how to project Denver - looks tough, but with Cutler and the Bills falling... it's not horrible.
Chargers ... I just don't know what to expect, another late season rally?

Raiders ... I could see them pulling this off and again, I realize it means very little, but looking ahead can be fun.

The Broncos really need to beat SD this week... if they can do this, then anything is possible, but even at 4-6, the Chargers are dangerous - lots of talent.

I would like to find a way for Oakland not to win the division, but it looks like they have a strong chance.

yes, I think Oakland is the only team that's above average right now.

Bowser 11-21-2011 01:12 PM

Yes, they will be the turd that rises to the top of the bowl that is the AFC West this year.

Sofa King 11-21-2011 01:14 PM

There's not 1 good team in the AFC West this year.

ChiefsrGood 11-21-2011 01:15 PM

I could see Oakland losing out if KC can beat them again.
Denver could win a couple more if the Tebow shit holds up
Chiefs are pretty much ****ed unless they can shock the world tonight
Chargers have some very winnable games left

Oakland
SD
KC
Denver

*edit oakland can probably beat chicago with cutler out. Miami has been on a hot streak so that will be a good game.

Hate to say it, but yes.

Although, they should have destroyed Minny yesterday, but let them back in the game.

Micjones 11-21-2011 01:18 PM

It's still ANYBODY's division. Well...except the Palko-led Chiefs.

DaFace 11-21-2011 01:18 PM

Chiefs are toast. Chargers are toast.

I hate to say it, but there's a chance the Broncos could surprise us. When you look at their remaining games (@ SDC / @ MIN / CHI / NEP / @ BUF / KCC), all of those except maybe the Patriots are winnable within reason. I don't THINK they will win @SD, CHI, or @BUF, but their defense is playing really solid right now, and Tebow's confidence is building if nothing else.

So, I'd personally say that it's 50% OAK, 30% DEN, 15% SD, and 5% KC.

Just curious ... let's say Denver's defense continues to play as they have in recent weeks. Can Denver go 4-2 in the final 6? I can see them winning the MIN, KCC games ... possibly the Bills too if they're slide is for real, that is 3 wins and finishing 8-8. That's why the Chargers game this week is so huge in my mind... they rallied late in the last game. We'll see, they're both playing much differently than they were a month ago.

Chiefs Pantalones 11-21-2011 01:21 PM

I don't think it matters.

Hammock Parties 11-21-2011 01:25 PM

Denver is not winning shit. They are not going to continue to get onside kicks, pick sixes and 60-yard TD passes each game. They have been shot with luck.

I think it's entirely possible that they could go 4-2, yes. I keep thinking that the bubble will burst, but you can't deny the defense's play recently. And Tebow's done just enough to not **** it up during the game so that he can complete an insane drive to win it.

Coogs 11-21-2011 01:26 PM

If the Chiefs lose these next 5 games... which looks entirely possible, I hope the Raiders and the Broncos are both in contention and need to win thier last two games to get in the playoffs. I'd sure as hell hate to lose 7 in a row and put ourselves right in the middle to the QB derby come draft day... only to screw it up the last two weeks.
