I just don't understand how this happens. How is she entitled to anything?

Why wouldn't she? There was no prenup and California is a community property state.

They have established residence in the state. Their rules apply. California enforces their own laws. I don't think they care what the rules are in whatever country they got married in.

well, they were together 30 years. At least it's not the usual hot chick marries old rich guy and takes everything after he dies or half after a few years of marriage.

What is he worth now though?? Saying he was once worth something is BS.. Half of whatever the two of them have right now is what it should be for 30years..
