Favorite TV Sitcom: Offer Your Nominations for the Tournament.
We're going to have a tournament to determine Chiefsplanet's favorite situation comedy (hereafter referred to as 'sitcom'). Please offer nominations for your all-time favorites.
For those who don't know what a TV sitcom is, wikipedia describes it as "a genre of comedy that features characters sharing the same common environment, such as a home or workplace, accompanied with jokes as part of the dialogue". You do not need to specify whether or not the show was filmed in front of a live studio audience. Final list of nominees. If you see any great shows that are missing, kiss my grits. 30 Rock ALF Alice All In the Family Archer Arrested Development Barney Miller Beavis and Butthead Benson Bewitched Bosom Buddies Boy Meets World Charles in Charge Cheers Chico and the Man Coach Community Curb Your Enthusiasm Cybill Designing Women Diff'rent Strokes Evening Shade Everybody Hates Chris Everybody Loves Raymond Extras F Troop Family Guy Family Matters Family Ties Fawlty Towers Frasier Freaks and Geeks Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Friends Full House Futurama Get Smart Gilligan's Island Gomer Pyle, USMC Good Times Green Acres Growing Pains Happy Days Hogan's Heroes Home Improvement How I met Your Mother I Dream of Jeannie I Love Lucy I'm Alan Partridge It's Always sunny in Philadelphia It's Gary Shandling's Show Joey Just Shoot Me King of the Hill Larry Sanders Show Laverne & Shirley Leave It To Beaver Louie Love Boat Lucky Louie M*A*S*H Mad About You Malcolm in the Middle Married With Children Martin Maude McHale's Navy Modern Family Mork & Mindy Mr. Ed Murphy Brown My Name is Earl Newhart (the Vermont Inn) News Radio Night Court One Day at a Time Parks and Recreation Perfect Strangers Petticoat Junction Police Squad Red Dwarf Rhoda Roseanne Sanford and Son Saved by the Bell Scrubs Seinfeld Silver Spoons Soap South Park Spin City Strangers with Candy Taxi That 70's Show The Addams Family The Andy Griffith Show The Bernie Mac Show The Beverly Hillbillies The Big Bang Theory The Bob Newhart Show (the Chicago psychologist) The Brady Bunch The Cosby Show The Dick Van Dyke Show The Drew Carey Show The Flintstones The Golden Girls The Honeymooners The Jeffersons The Jetsons The John Larroquette Show The King of Queens The League The Mary Tyler Moore Show The Monkees The Munsters The Odd Couple The Office (BBC version) The Office (US version) The Partridge Family The Simpsons The Wonder Years Third Rock From the Sun Threes Company Two and a Half Men Two Broke Girls* Veronica's Closet Welcome Back, Kotter What's Happening? Cable shows and network shows should be in different categories. It's a lot easier to get a laugh when you cuss.
