Cato said one person was in custody, others were released after questioning, and one suspect was still being sought. Cato said an argument between two people preceded the shootings.

Cato could not say if the shooter and victims knew one another.

The 4:30 pm. shootings happened near a Sears store in the Independence Center mall. Several shots were fired, sending shoppers fleeing for safety, several witnesses told local television stations.

A friend of mine is the manager at a store there. She had to lock herself and the other employees and customers in the store. Apparently the shooting happened as the groups were passing each other on the escalators.

Heh, not quite. I was there a few weeks ago over the holidays. Seemed like a typical suburban mall to me.

This is partially why they have stopped building enclosed malls. Most of the new ones are open air now. Enclosed malls became teen/thug/loiter handouts.
