Interesting remark on Herm heard on Podcast

Listening to Mohr Stories [Jay Mohr's pod], and he said Wayne Chrebet told him personally [and by context it sounded like it was after they had a player coach relationship, ie not sucking up, even in private] that Herm Edwards was "head and shoulders the best coach in the entire NFL, . . . Monday to Saturday."

Just a bit of trivia I thought needed memorializing here.

Wayne Chrebet is suffering from early dementia from all his concussions.

Can't tell if you think you Columbo'd that out, but that's why he said it the way he did.

I still like Herm! In my opinion he has a likable personality, a lot more than most coaches! I think that this really helps his relationship with the players. The problem is that his game style is really outdated! You just can't play that way anymore in today's NFL!

His style would work best in the college game. It wouldn't mean national titles, because he'd still mismanage the clock and get outcoached, but he'd kill in living rooms and in the locker room.

How many coaches did Chrebet play for?
If you're a guy like Chrebet, and you've probably been a guy was a sort of underdog, and someone like Herm Edwards believes in you you probably would have strong feelings for the guy.

He had problems select Mondays and Saturdays too.

Did you write the Rex Morgan comics?

Couldnt stand Herm. Especially his press conferences when asked anything that might imply he needs to change what he is doing. We've all seen "You play to win the game", and "Herm shows playoff invitation" press conferences, but he did similar stuff all the time. Like saying 30 points is arena league ball when asked what the Chiefs would do to score more points. God.

I especially love his absolutely dumbfounded looks on the sidelines, staring up at the scoreboard. I dont know which was worse, that dumbass look or Dick Vermiel's smiles when the defense was imploding.

His input on acquiring talent was good. Almost every player on our team that is worth a shit came when he was here. Im dead serious in saying that i wouldnt mind him in an executive role of some sort
