This season could be about Peyton.....Hillis that is

JC will be back along with T-Mo and Berry. Houston and Baldwin have a year under their belts and Winston will be wearing Chiefs red on Sunday's.

The difference this year is we have a power back that can actually produce. 6'2", 250 and half psyco.

3rd and short suddenly has become the best friend for the Chiefs where in the past few years it was their worst enemy.

If he can revert to 2010 form the Chiefs will pack one of the best backfields in the league and now they have lineman that can actually block.

Whether you start JC or not (and we should), a heavy dose of the other Peyton could be what this team has lacked. A power back that can truly wear down the interior of a defense. A bck who can power for the short yardage even when the blocking is stuffed.

This gives the Chiefs a better opportunity to win doing what they are best at doing...dink-dunk the ball. Longer posession times will spell longer rest times for the H-J-H pass rush.

And longer posession times mean longer stints of opposing defenses chasing one of the best RB's in the league all over the field then tackling a freight train late in the games.

Hillis could end up being one of the best FA signings this team has made offensively next to Winston.

It could also be about Rashard Langford.

YA NEVER KNOW

I have this sneaking suspicion that our offense this year will be so run heavy that it will make Marty-ball look like the run and shoot.

Rausch 04-17-2012 06:17 PM

For the first time in a long time we are a team without a T0dd.

I am disappoint...

You know how they say some people have a face for radio?

Well, we have a QB for Martyball...

I'm racist. I don't like white running backs

I don't know if that could ever happen. That being said the thing I like about Hillis is he can go inside and he can get the edge and he can receive. The whole thing will land on the shoulders of Dabol and his willingness or lack thereof to call the playaction pass. Screens should be there all year with Winston on the line now.

I just think we now have a legit backfield like we haven't had in a long time. JC is all-world we know that but now we actually have someone who can spell him and gaing more than 0 yards per carry. Hillis has also shown he can power ahead for the short yardage and goal line situations even when the blocking isn't there.

It's just nice to think that when JC takes a rest we don't drop off but rather now have the ability to still attack.

Mr. Laz 04-17-2012 06:22 PM

Remember when we had Todd Sauerbrun, Todd Peterson, AND Todd Collins in one year?

Those were the days...

In the past I've seen Hillis get hit behind the LOS and just power through guys. It was pretty impressive. I have no idea what he's got left in the tank, but he certainly had reerun strength at one point.

Yeah I don't see him going down from arm tackles the way TJ and Battle would.
