GRONK!!! Extended 6 years, $54 Million

Sweet news for Patriots fans. He had two years left on his contract (so really it extends him for an additional four), and it's very rare for the Patriots to extend a guy with 2 years left, which tells you what they think of him.

Love it!

He's no Kellen Winslow JR.

Trade. Cassel for Gronk. Straight up.

vailpass 06-08-2012 11:02 AM

That name sounds familiar. Is he the brother of Denver's fullback?

KCUnited 06-08-2012 11:03 AM

Meanwhile, Moeaki hyperextended.

What if he comes back less impressive after the injury? They should have waited a year.

Keep in mind on Gronk deal that people said he'd only play 4 years max b/c of his back. New guarantees after 2 years is smart biz.

His 2012 tax refund check could keep Greece afloat another year

RealSNR 06-08-2012 11:50 AM

I think that's cheaper money than what Gonzalez got in his last contract with the Chiefs.

Insane deal for the Patriots

We could trade them Jake O'Connell.

Brady + O'Connell = championship!

Your defense sucks.

I'm pretty sure they didn't commit to $54MM without being really darn sure that the injury isn't anything permanent.

In fact, I don't think they would've let him play in the SB if there was any chance of worsening it.

Yes, yes it does, but here's hoping not so much next year.

Besides, if we'd had a HEALTHY freaking Gronk I'm convinced we would've won the SB. Oh well, that and two bucks will buy me a cuppa.
