A president should remain limited to two terms but...

... they should not be allowed to serve them consecutively.

Obama's administration removing federal immigration support from the state of Arizona only re-enforces my belief that a sitting president should not be allowed to run for the office during the following election. I honestly and truly believe that his actions are little more than for the purpose of securing the hispanic vote in this coming election.

I don't like Romney any more than I like Obama but if I have to choose between a giant douche who supports state's rights to secure their borders, and a turd sandwich more interested in politicking than defending the welfare of the citizens who elected him.... then giant douche it is.

Not allowing a sitting president to use his office as a campaigning tool would squash a bunch of this bullshit.

Oh, the outrage!!!! Seems there's a ton of that when It it's their pet being slaughtered.

Not so much when it isn't.

La literatura 06-25-2012 11:43 PM

Personally, I dislike the two term limit. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind the six year term proposal.

thanks for attributing thoughts to me that I never implied or stated. also... I apologize that this only being the 3rd presidential election I have been able to participate in that I just somewhat recently came up with this thought.

coming around? I've made an effort to become more politically aware over the past year or two but I've never been a fan of Obama... or GB for that matter. The last president, who IMO, did more good than harm was Clinton.

/probably just burned up any goodwill you had for me from the OP lol

Nah, dude :thumb: You've always been cool with me. Contrary to popular belief I like everybody here in DC and on CP in general. Even Milkdud ! (Milkman) regardless if they disagree with me or not. It's fun smack talking, name calling while learning and being a teacher as well:thumb:

But now you are hooked that you have become interested in the last 2yrs and I assure you your heart will bleed more red, white and blue as time goes on.

my reply was not pissy... it was factual. you made an assumption and I replied that it was incorrect.

seriously... it is people like you that turn me off on trying to talk politics. if people don't agree with what you think, they are stupid, zombies, and idiots. no room what so ever to have an actual conversation.

That's too funny.

Let's examine some things about your opening post. You listed all the things that Obama has done that you have disliked and, in the same breath, that no president should serve to consecutive terms. Are these 2 topics related? If not, why share them with your central point about presidential terms?
An assumption was made by me that they were related (after all, they are in the same OP.) If they are related, which I believe them to be, then that is paramount to my statement, which in laymans terms means everyone wants to get rid of the guy you don't like, but there's no outrage otherwise.

This you replied with calling me a ****wit. Three posts later you're outraged by name calling.

In terms of the zombie, etc. statement I made that wasn't so directed at you but at sportshrinks MO. If you can't see that, then you don't need to talk politics, you need a prescription.

So my advice is to get over yourself.

I'm commenting on current events. I apologize... I definitely should have gone back and listed all the things that presidents who have served two consecutive terms for the past 30 years that lead me to that thought so as not to confuse you. I'll be more thoughtful and considerate in future posts.

I don't know sportshrinks MO as I hardly spend any time in this subforum at all. I understand that you were not speaking directly at me with that reply. I was making a comment about your reply. Every time I come across a political discussion... it typically degrades into Moonbat v RWNJ. I don't understand your, and other's, attack via over exaggeration and jump to conclusions mentality.

Lastly, you are absolutely a ****wit.
