Wild WW2 mixed with modern day pics.
Celebrating this year’s anniversary of the end of World War II, we feature the work of amateur Russian photographer Sergey Larenkov. He collected old pictures of several European cities which suffered the heaviest fighting during the great war, then spent 12 months painstakingly travelling to Paris, , Berlin, Moscow, Leningrad (now St Petersburg) and Prague and others to re-create the ‘today’ shots before carefully merging the old and new scenes together using Photoshop on his computer.

Wow, those are great. It really strikes home that the war took place in "normal" locales.
|
Pretty neat pics
|
Awesome but seeing the old and new side by side would be great too.

People don't understand what it would be like if some other country came into the US and blew up our cities and turned them into a warzone. Some of those places still haven't fully recovered.
But yet we have reeruned neo-cons on this board that want to occupy all of these countries w/ our military because it's "protecting our freedoms" and "fighting the war against terrorism". LMAO. |
The T-34 pic is cool as hell.
|
That is simply awesome.

WWII almost seems too unreal to have actually happened. I remember listening to my Grandfather,a Marine in the Pacific during the war, tell me the most amazing stories of survival and horror. Its sad to think that all of the WWII veterans knowledge and stories are quickly being lost forever as they pass away.
Thanks for sharing the pictures. Powerful stuff. |
