What is this thing? (Photo enclosed.)
 

I do a lot of walking, and it seems like every week or two I'll see one of these wires lying on the sidewalk. Today I saw two of them several blocks apart. They're perhaps six to eight inches long.

What are these things? Where do they come from? They've always got that little minor corkscrew pattern, so there's got to be some reason why I keep seeing them.

Right now, aliens is the best theory I've got, too.

Nope. I've been seeing them for months.

Possibly, but I see them in different locations. Yesterday, the two I saw were on a walk that was about four miles from my office, and I've also seen them near my office.

Obviously it is pubic hair from some dude that uses Rogaine, he is into porno and it has escaped a his drawers.

Possibility, but there's no dog tracks nearby.

This is the other one I saw yesterday, perhaps 1/4 or 1/2 mile south of the first one.

Disregard the 90 degree angle. I presume some kid bent it or something. Every other one I've seen has been straight.
