Jamaal Charles expected vs. Saints Updated: September 17, 2012, 4:30 PM ET Associated Press KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles dinged up the same knee that needed reconstructive surgery last season during Sunday's 35-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills. Charles, who tore his left ACL in Week 2, carried only six times for three yards against the Bills. He could be seen riding a bike on the sideline and asking to play the rest of the game. Kansas City coach Romeo Crennel said Monday that the decision was made to rest Charles, who has yet to show the same burst that carried him to more than 1,400 yards rushing in 2010. Crennel said he expects Charles to be ready for Sunday's game at New Orleans, another team that is winless through its first two games. |
I have no problem with this. If we ever want Charles to be effective again we should protect him.

Until C&O reports this from twitter, I'm not believing it.

I dont know if anybody noticed but i did notice after takin a hit on one play he came up limping. Did anybody see it too ?
|
I saw him limping off the field after a Bills LB hung onto his leg like a dog on a bone. I posted it in the game thread before the announcers picked up on it. Smart to rest him in that bloodbath. Looks like Draughn might be a viable backup. He flashed some speed and agility. Hope he can keep it going until Charles is back to 100%.

Football gods.
Cassel. Fate. I believe. |

Cassell might deserve another shot next season because of all the injuries, poor OL play, and horrendous defense so far...
