Here we go.....it's the fault of high capacity magazines..

If you are willing to live in states that tells you how big a fountain pop you can buy. Then don't be shocked when they tell you how many bullets, mags ect you can buy or own.
Omaha new housing is booming with peeps relocating from both coast's

Is > 0 considered 'high-capacity' ?

His bill has attracted 16 Democratic co-sponsors
Ouch only 16?? One would have expected far more that doesn't look good for his cause....

Senators Charles E. Schumer (D-NY), Dick Durbin (D-IL), Tom Carper (D-DE), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Jack Reed (D-RI), Barbara Boxer (D-CA), Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Chris Coons (D-DE), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Ben Cardin (D-MD), Tom Harkin (D-IA), Carl Levin (D-MI), Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Al Franken (D-MN), Chris Murphy (D-CT), and Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)

So you have
2-CA
2-NY
2-NJ
2-RI
2-CT
2-DE
1-IL
1-MN
1-MI
1-MD
1-IA

So you have the usual suspects and almost no one else. Considering how close Al Franklin's special election was anyone want to bet this costs him his seat?

Iowanian 01-22-2013 07:33 PM

Tom Harkin probably just got fired.

Frazod 01-22-2013 07:43 PM

Durbin is such a ****. Just one of the numerous embarrassments to crawl out of Illinois.

You know I was wondering about that. I don't know enough about internal Iowa politics to say if it would impact him but he seemed to have won his reelections pretty handily. He is the other one that could be negatively impacted by this.

At first I was thinking that a high capacity ban of some sort might pass. Now I'm kinda doubting that this thing goes anywhere.

A periodically interesting article. Guy goes off the reservation from time to time which will damage his credible IMO...but there is some interesting data.

BTW general rule never ever engage someone whenever they say 'why do you need to have X'. This is a free society that question is never relevant. Flip the conversation around on them. It's never about why you need to have it, it's about why they need to take it from you.

There are valid reasons to prohibit things, but in our society the burden of proof is on taking, not having.

Heh well now we know why he's cosponsoring!

He's not afraid of being fired because he's quitting instead!

WOW and apparently Rockefeller in WV announced he wasn't seeking reelection which explains why he's cosponsoring NaziStein's AWB bill.
