International Space station just flew by
Anybody see it ?? I did as well as my daughter . Pretty cool ! It looked like a ,well...... shiny object in the dark. Lasted about 4 minutes.

It does not fly over here much, at least not at an angle that is visible.
It did last fall. It was moving-fast. Easy to tell it was the ISS. there is an app for tracking the ISS by zip code. If you want a great program-Stellarium. Good for Mac, windows, linux, android. Not an Ipad version. Free, clean, easy to use. |
And BTW I couldn't see anybody moving around inside. But I told my daughter there were Aliens inside. She asked me if they were illegal . ROFL

I've seen the shuttle before pass over while connected to the space station. Very cool and way brighter than I expected.
|
Congrats, I saw it once a few years ago during a star gazing outing on a farm near here. The conductor told us to watch it and it would suddenly disappear. Sure enough it entered the earth's shadow and poof, it was gone.

It was an Iranian monkey.

Iridium flares are a little harder to spot but also very cool. They build from total blackness into a flash and back to darkness that lasts about 4-5 seconds total. Heavensabove.org gives times and look angles by location. Intensity of the flash varies greatly by exact spot in the ground but in the right place the flash is brighter than the moon.

Shows upcoming sightings based on country, state, and city. |
Generally you get 3-4 passes a day, its harder to spot during the day unless you know where to look.

I use to see it all the time before I moved up here.

My daughters and I look for the ISS whenever we can. We use this http://spaceweather.com/flybys/ to find out what's flying over and when.
|
Technically, it's doesn't 'fly'.
:) |
Probably just an Irani drone.
