Dee Milliner, Xavier Rhodes, Jonathan Banks
http://secondroundstats.com/2013/02/18/cbs-1/
Guy just did his CB report. Some good stuff. My only question regarding Rhodes is how much time was he in coverage? FSU had a beastly pass rush like usual. I'm willing to bet Rhodes wasn't in coverage for long on average compared to Banks and Milliner. Noticed how on 3rd down Rhodes is suddenly the best CB. Pass rush. Rhodes is still pretty damn good on his own though. |
that's pretty interesting to read.

I think that all three of these guys are going to be gone by the time the Chiefs pick in the top of the second round. The Chiefs should have a potential pick between Poyer and David Amerson.
People are forgetting that Amerson was absolutely brilliant in 2011 when he led the NCAA's with a remarkable 13 interceptions. He tried too hard to equal that in 2012 and got caught a lot trying to get in-between the receiver and ball versus just playing the receiver. However, size and skill set wise, Amerson is easily on the same level as these three guys. IMO, I think that Amerson, Milliner, Rhodes and Banks are near clones of each other and all will be pretty damn good CB's on the next level, especially if you are the Chiefs and are looking for a complimentary press coverage guy playing opposite of Flowers. |
There is so much quality at defensive back. First round talents:
Milliner, CB, Alabama Rhodes, CB, FSU Amerson, CB, NCSU Banks, CB, Mississippi State Eric Reid, S, LSU Kenny Vaccaro, S, Texas Tony Jefferson, S, Oklahoma Matt Elam, S, Florida If we don't get a first round talent at defensive back, it will be because a first round talent at defensive lineman or pass rusher fell. That second round pick is so valuable in this draft, imo. |

Spend that #1 overall on worthless needs like QB. Spend our 2nd rounder on the REAL value of this draft, which is CB and S. :) |
What would you guys think of Bacarri Rambo, as a day 3 pick?
|
Logan Ryan too. The guy is really good.
|
I have also resigned myself to Rhodes not being available at 2.2.
If he were, I'd sprint my ass to the podium to get him, though. He's a no-bout 1st round talent and had he stayed for his SR season, he'd be the #1 CB in next season's draft. |
Crazy hypothetical scenario: Floyd, Richardson, Banks, Amerson, Rhodes, Milliner, are all off the board at 25.
Would you trade up to get Vaccaro? Disclaimer: This scenario is beyond unlikely and I haven't really watched any film of Vaccaro as I figured he'd be long gone before this could even seem probable. |

I'm actually a little bit intrigued with the safety we just signed. He was good yhear before he went holy land. |
Vaccaro and Berry as safeties could make it very interesting. You would have a hard time generating a mismatch on them because they both boast outstanding versatility.

And really, I love the Cyprien kid.

Honestly, I think we may even be able to get our CB in round 3 just as the Packers did last year when they picked Casey Hayward from Vanderbilt.
Dee Milliner, Johnthan Banks, Xavier Rhodes, Desmond Trufant, Jordan Poyer, David Amerson, Logan Ryan. Then you have a bunch of underrated guys like Robert Alford, Leon McFadden and Blide Wreh-Wilson. If we can get Logan Ryan with our 3rd round pick I'll be ****ing pumped. |
I've heard from some talking heads that Wreh Wilson might end up being the best CB in this class.
