Not to say there is a ton of good but let's try and point out some goodness from it since it is a done deal...

1. It means Cassel is gone....
2. We have a QB who actually has experience in college and more than part of 1 season in the pro's for the first time since?????
3. We still hold our #1 pick and could still pick up a QB in the draft
4. Smith is a viable backup should #3 come about

Trading that much for him GUARANTEES that he is the starter for AT LEAST 2 years.

Same team as last season

Right now I say 50-50. It is very plausible to think that we were going to have to pick up a verteran if we drafted a QB at #1 regardless. It's also plausible to think that the QB's in this draft could not start out of the gate and would need some bench time so again you sign a verteran.

He only has 1 year on his contract as I understand it so the 2 year talk at this point is out the window, if that is the case.

Amongst the 49 strong negatives, I only see one positive.

Smith is about the same age/maturity as most of the current talent on the team.

So, when the team gets old, they will all be old together.

Except I think Smith is better than any QB we had on this roster last year, not that that is a big stretch or anything

5. If you're a true fan this is the best day of your worthless existence b/c you get A Smith and Jockel in one fail swoop.

The grocery stores in KC will be barren of american spirit cigs, pabst blue ribbon and potters vodka tonight.

Oh, but wait! We can always draft the next Russel Wilson in the third next year or the year after that. Our glorious mother****er of a gm knows exactly how to do that. Remember, he was the only one outside of Pete Carrol that tagged him as a great QB last year. Good grief, this sucks so bad it's not even funny.
