It seems to come up in a thread now and then. So...like it? Hate it? Favorite subreddits?

A point I made for new users in another thread is that the power of reddit isn't in just going there once in a while and looking at the front page, but of creating an account and customizing the list of subreddits you're subscribed to. Frankly, I think a lot of the defaults are 99% fluff and circle jerks, so I usually recommend getting rid of these unless you're into lots of image macros.

I enjoy it, but you really do have to put some effort into it to get rid of the crap. It also has a bit too much of the "I'm in high school and know everything" vibe for my taste. Pull up a post on the police doing something wrong or on any international news stories and the comments are hilarious.

But if you get into some small groups, it can be a decent discovery tool.

I follow the swtor subreddit. It's basically the best place for news on the game.

The Internet has become, for me, little more than reddit, chiefsplanet, YouTube, and Facebook.

Take out YouTube, and that's basically me (unless it's a video linked from one of the other three). Every once in a while I think "I should look for something else to do online" and literally can't think of any other sites I'm really interested in.

Yeah Daface, isn't everyone on Redditt? I went over in 2005 after shhhh became a cesspool.

Love it. I've got about 50+ that I subscribe too. Always something interesting going on or a good link to something. If you have not taken the time to set up your subscriptions, do it now. You will be glad you did.
