Obamacare is postponed one year for...

...large corporations.

ObamaCare is still going into effect in 2014, but one key component of it is being temporarily shelved. The White House today postponed by one year a rule requiring employers to either provide coverage to employees or face hefty fines, reports the Wall Street Journal. The rule will take effect in 2015, instead of 2014...

It is better to duck the rising premium during the election year. Smart move!

HonestChieffan 07-03-2013 09:23 AM

And the cost rises daily.

Dayze 07-03-2013 09:24 AM

Obama care rulz.

mlyonsd 07-03-2013 09:25 AM

Small business's with less than 50 people are the only ones getting the exception.

why not get your ducks in a row, get the computer glitches and paperwork more in order before asking a real small business to take this on too.

I just purchased a short term (6 months) health insurance for my kids. The cost went up 10% from 6 months ago.

Better to do a shakedown of the system with huge corps? Interesting logic. Must be run by microsoft

You must be busy if this is your best shot

DJ's left nut 07-03-2013 09:40 AM

Gotta get that past the 2014 election cycle.

People are going to be losing jobs and having hours cut to pay for this thing, just as everyone that actually runs a business has said would happen. Dear Leader can't have that pain felt before those 2014 election cycles.

He's an absolutely pathetic leader. His entire Presidency has been built around trumping up this catastrophic piece of shit and he doesn't even have the stones to fully implement it.

KILLER_CLOWN 07-03-2013 09:43 AM

LMAO Everyone but a select few will be exempt and workers will be cut down to just below the minimum hours which means most will work 2 or 3 jobs and still not have health insurance. Good Job Obama, you really took care of everything.

stonedstooge 07-03-2013 09:52 AM

So we won't see the $2500 savings in premiums until 2015? Shit, I had plans for that money

I thought it was more than 50?

The Journal explains that while most employers already provide such coverage, restaurants and retail companies in particularóboth of which rely on low-wage workersówere resisting. The rule affects businesses with more than 50 workers.

So they claim. It has more to do with an upcoming election because businesses wrote in claiming they have to lay off one in five and are not doing any new hires. Obama administration knows it's advantageous for business to bump people off by making more part-time employees or keeping how many they hire down. This would hurt the democrats running up to the next election.

They need to wait, so they don't lose seats, then they can repress us.

I thought that money is to help you pay for the premium when you buy a policy from the exchange. Not that you are being handed out some extra money to hit the bar.

Am I correct? I am clueless in all these stuffs.

The scarey thing is that those who support this stuff are too economically stupid to understand the consequences this has on more than one marketólabor, health care insurers and providers.

Prison Bitch 07-03-2013 10:19 AM

Obama won the 2012 election with ease. I don't see any reason why his policies shouldn't be fully implemented, regardless of how one feels about Obamacare. He DID win.
