Because this needed to happen... Beetlejuice 2 and a Gremlins re-boot

What the ****ing ****??? Seriously Dane... if you know Seth Grahame-Smith, tell him he is a ****ing asshole for doing this and that only a bitch would have a hyphenated last name.

Seth Grahame-Smith has given fans an update on Beetlejuice 2.

The Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter writer is currently working on a script for a follow-up to the 1988 movie, and has tweeted a photo of himself in Beetlejuice gear at his computer, along with the phrase: "It's showtime."

Original director Tim Burton recently stated that he and star Michael Keaton will return if the script is good enough.

Grahame-Smith reassured fans that the movie will "absolutely" be a sequel rather than a reboot or remake, and said that he hopes to create a story that Burton and Keaton will approve of.

He told SciFiNow: "I think that you'd have to be an idiot not to be nervous about taking on something so beloved by so many people, myself included.

"Which is the precise reason why we told Warner Bros we would absolutely not even think about doing it without Michael Keaton reprising his role and without Tim's involvement and we were lucky enough to get both men to agree in theory, provided the script was strong enough that they'd at least be open to it. So we're proceeding slowly, cautiously and carefully.

"What I will say is that we are not remaking or rebooting this movie, we are absolutely doing a 26 years later sequel, and more important than that, if we don't feel like it does the first movie justice then I think it's even better not to do it, so we'll see."

The original Beetlejuice earned more than $70 million at the box office in 1988, becoming the year's tenth-highest-grossing film.

Oooooooh, bring back young Geena Davis and young (but 18+) Winona Ryder. Pleeeeease.

Where does it say anything about Gremlins? I want a sequel to Gremlins with the original cast and animatronic Gremlins. Hopefully not a CGI reboot. There is no way it will have the charm the original did. Not possible. Just like the awful Fright Night remake.

"Today at the water cooler, I was talking to the guys and we all agreed that the one movie that really, REALLY needed a sequel was...get this.....Beetlejuice!"

....said nobody, ever.

If only they could bring back Phoebe Cates in her prime for Gremlins.
