**** yeah.

That's it.

Next time I'm at my parents' house I'm bringing back all of my C&H books. Hope I can get my 4 year old daughter into them.

WilliamTheIrish 07-18-2013 08:42 PM

This should be fun.

Best comic strips ever:
Calvin and Hobbes
Bloom County

Jarni 07-18-2013 10:31 PM

Can't wait. I grew up on these like so many others. I think it bonds a lot of people together and in this day and age we sort of need it. I hope your daughter falls in love with the comics too, it's something great to pass down..beats having kids wanting cellphones and all that at the age of 5...

What are yall like 90? Never heard of these comics.

No, our age is closer to your IQ - around 50.

Add The Far Side, and those are my three favorite strips of all time.

When they ceased, I stopped reading the funny pages.

Da ****? I'm 30 and have Calvin and Hobbes books.

EDIT: Can't say I do. I'm sure they're buried in mom's house somewhere.

My favorites were the snowman ones. Examples:

I concur and second the motion

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Baby Lee again.

this single panel sums up why I think C+H is the the best serial comic strip ever.

WhiteWhale 07-19-2013 11:40 AM

Calvin's dad was my favorite character.

Calvin would ask those complex questions and he'd just make up some bullshit story... awesome.

DJ's left nut 07-19-2013 11:52 AM

I forgot how incredible Calvin and Hobbes was - just a great strip.

1) The Far Side
2) Calvin and Hobbes
...
...

Man, those 2 are just so far beyond everything else that a 3rd is hard to come up with. I really liked Non Sequitur, but it's kindof a poor man's Far Side. Peanuts just wasn't my speed, but was undeniably great. I reluctantly concede that I was a fan of FoxTrot.

One that just came out right around the time I stopped reading them was Get Fuzzy. That one was pretty damn funny.
