Anybody remember TE Walter White?
Any of you old timers remember Walter White? He played TE for the Chiefs from 75 to 79. I met him last night at the Phoenix downtown.
I vaguely remembered him. Doing a google search, he is ranked the 3rd best TE in franchise history. He had a couple good years with his best being in 76. His 79 season was cut short. Not really sure what happened to him and I didn't want to ask him. He was celebrating his 63rd birthday last night. He looks pretty good but moves like a much older man. I am pretty sure the years of football bring him a lot of pain today. |
He gets out and about in the city a whole lot. I remember meeting him in Springfield when I was in college and we talked Chiefs for a long time. Then later downtown at the Kansas City Club.
Nice enough guy. |

He was very nice to my family. He came to our table and shook all our hands.
Lonnie McFadden asked Walter to get up and sing. He sang the Temptations song "MyGirl" he actually did a great job with it. |

He sells the best meth in the A-B-Q.

He is the man who knocks.

He was one of my favorite players at the time. Not a lot to root for on those late '70s teams.

He stopped in DDC about 11 years ago when I was flight instructing.
He was with Deron Cherry and a former Minnesota Viking. I will need to look at their autographs to see who all was with him. |
Walter White was a decent NFL tight end in his day. Had good size, pretty good hands. He played for some awful Chiefs teams, but was one of the few players who didn't just flat out suck back then. He's been in the Chiefs Ambassadors program for a long time, and is a good representative for the retired Chiefs players. I've met him. Nice guy.
