Jeremy Maclin

Maclin becomes a free agent after this season, and of course you have the Andy Reid connection and the Missouri connection (He's originally from St. Louis).

Things might have aligned for him to be a bargain, he suffered the knee injury this year in training camp and is on IR.

Maclin would give us a lot of utility in the downfield passing game and he would be able to help as a kick returner. His base salary this season is just under $3 million. He's appeared in 59 games at the NFL level and has 26 touchdowns. Certainly he'll get a raise since he'll only be 26 and has produced well at the NFL level, but he should be affordable in terms of his production.

I don't think you need to be a Mizzou homer to feel like Maclin would be a good signing and a great fit for us.

The injury thing is a concern, but the best thing about that is he has a track record of coming back strong from injuries. He'll put in the work to get back at 100 percent.

Would be a good target in the offseason.

No.

How many years has he been in the NFL...and how many of those years did he start all 16 games?

Know who would've made a great Missouri addition to this team?

Sheldon Richardson.

Know who is an injured piece of shit?

Jeremy Maclin.

Let's not be a stop for all the bad Mizzou players...

...Let's get the good ones.

Hammock Parties 11-19-2013 08:54 AM

If you think he sucks now, how much will you really think he sucks with Alex Smith?

KC_Lee 11-19-2013 08:55 AM

Hmm...

Played for Reid...Plus
Sucess at a position of need...Plus
Age not a concern...Plus
Comming off injury...Minus

More pluses than minuses. Should be our primary FA target if Philly does not tag him or re-sign him.

Will Franklin, Colin Brown, and Chase Daniel are awesome, though!

Maclin would be a great fit. He's a guy who actually gets separation.

Yeah...between the tendons in his knees...

RealSNR 11-19-2013 09:02 AM

What's this obsession people have with matching up free agents with old coaches?

This isn't Scott ****ing Pioli. It's a new era. And evidenced by John Dorsey's free agency work, he's not afraid to step away from players that he drafted or whom Reid once coached. Donnie Avery, Sean Smith, Mike DeVito, Hussein Abdullah, etc.

So does McCluster. And I'm not advocating for us to keep Midget Man around next year.

Mr_Tomahawk 11-19-2013 09:04 AM

If he wasn't from MU...you would see more 'meh' responses...
