Claiming Players Off Of Opponents Practice Squads
Once we know who our opponent is for the playoff game, what's to prevent us from cutting Chad Hall or Powe (again) and snagging an offensive player off of their practice squad?
Bad karma, maybe, but shit, dis is a bidness. Squeeze him for all the inside info he has. That would force the [Colts/Bengals/Patriots] to come up with new terminology, snap counts and audibles on less than a week's work, while also trying to game plan for a playoff game. |
Squeeze a practice squad player for info? Wut?

I'm curious why every team doesn't do this every single week.

You really think that it would cause a team to completely change their game plan? Seriously?

I'm not saying it would make a world of difference, but in a game of inches, anything helps, no? |
Even if it was a good idea (not saying it is) couldn't do it if we play Saturday game. "a practice squad player may not sign a player contract with his team's next opponent later than 4:00 p.m. on the sixth day preceding the game and tenth day during bye weeks."
|
I'm willing to bet they already know most of their opponents' snapcounts and audibles.

Do we know when the 5 seed is slated to play yet? |

The Jaguars tried that with Stanzi, didn't work out so well for them.

Stanzi never got a real shot at playing in KC because Pioli was only interested in playing his players, but wait... Pioli drafted Stanzi, and he's not going to get a real shot in Jacksonville because of Henne and Gabbert, they are just too good. |
