Incoming Free Agent Market: RBs/FBs
This is an ongoing thing I'll be doing for a week and a half or so, as I trudge through each position, giving us a preview at who may be free for a good pickup, or, more likely, a cheap pickup.
I'm doing every position. I've already done QB. Today, RBs: RB Matt Asiata ERFA Minnesota Vikings Free Agent RB Jackie Battle UFA Tennessee Titans Free Agent RB Joique Bell RFA Detroit Lions Free Agent RB Kahlil Bell UFA Green Bay Packers Free Agent RB LeGarrette Blount UFA New England Patriots Free Agent RB Ahmad Bradshaw UFA Indianapolis Colts Free Agent FB Richard Brockel RFA Carolina Panthers Free Agent RB Andre Brown UFA New York Giants Free Agent RB Donald Brown UFA Indianapolis Colts Free Agent RB Ronnie Brown UFA San Diego Chargers Free Agent RB Delone Carter UFA Jacksonville Jaguars Free Agent RB Tashard Choice UFA Indianapolis Colts Free Agent FB Tyler Clutts UFA Dallas Cowboys Free Agent FB Jed Collins RFA New Orleans Saints Free Agent RB Anthony Dixon UFA San Francisco 49ers Free Agent RB Herb Donaldson RFA Tennessee Titans Tennessee Titans FB Kendall Gaskins UFA New York Giants Free Agent RB Toby Gerhart UFA Minnesota Vikings Free Agent RB Ray Graham UFA Houston Texans Free Agent RB Jonathan Grimes UFA Houston Texans Free Agent RB Lex Hilliard UFA New York Jets Free Agent RB Peyton Hillis UFA New York Giants Free Agent FB Henry Hynoski RFA New York Giants Free Agent RB Rashad Jennings UFA Oakland Raiders Free Agent FB Quinn Johnson UFA Tennessee Titans Free Agent RB Felix Jones UFA Pittsburgh Steelers Free Agent FB Greg Jones UFA Houston Texans Free Agent RB Maurice Jones-Drew UFA Jacksonville Jaguars Free Agent RB Deji Karim UFA Houston Texans Free Agent FB Eric Kettani UFA Kansas City Chiefs Free Agent FB John Kuhn UFA Green Bay Packers Free Agent FB Spencer Larsen UFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free Agent RB Brian Leonard UFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers Free Agent RB Darren McFadden UFA Oakland Raiders Free Agent RB Willis McGahee UFA Cleveland Browns Free Agent RB Sam McGuffie UFA New England Patriots Free Agent RB Rashard Mendenhall UFA Arizona Cardinals Free Agent RB Knowshon Moreno UFA Denver Broncos Free Agent RB Jamize Olawale ERFA Oakland Raiders Free Agent FB Toben Opurum UFA Houston Texans Free Agent RB Tauren Poole UFA Indianapolis Colts Free Agent RB Bobby Rainey RFA Tampa Bay Buccaneers Tampa Bay Buccaneers FB Michael Robinson UFA Seattle Seahawks Free Agent RB Alfonso Smith RFA Arizona Cardinals Free Agent FB E. Alex Smith UFA Cincinnati Bengals Free Agent RB Chad Spann UFA Houston Texans Free Agent RB James Starks RFA Green Bay Packers Free Agent RB LaRod Stephens-Howling UFA Pittsburgh Steelers Free Agent RB Jeremy Stewart RFA Oakland Raiders Free Agent FB Frank Summers UFA Buffalo Bills Free Agent FB Will Ta'ufo'ou ERFA Jacksonville Jaguars Free Agent RB Phillip Tanner RFA Dallas Cowboys Free Agent RB Ben Tate UFA Houston Texans Free Agent RB Jordan Todman RFA Jacksonville Jaguars Free Agent RB Leon Washington UFA Tennessee Titans Free Agent RB George Winn UFA Dallas Cowboys Free Agent I would sign the shit out of LaRod Stephens-Howling. |
I bet we hear "Kuhn!" about 50 times in this thread. We just need to draft a running back to compete with Gray.
Should have drafted Theo Riddick.
Andre Brown has the goal-line punch we lack.
We have one of the best Rb's in the league, as well as a premier blocking and pass catching FB (which we don't utilize enough IMO). Davis started to wake up, too. No need for any more..
I'd cut Gray and add (back) Toben Opurum. He ran the ball well at KU before Radio moved him to OLB, and he can back up both Sherman and Charles/Davis.
If Donald Brown shakes loose, I'd rather have him, though. I doubt they let him go, since Richardson sucks nutsack (LOL @ that trade BTW). |
Herb Donaldson would be a good signing
Id like to sign Ben Tate, but he will be too expensive. He'll probably get near starters money someplace.
I'd take Draughn back over Gray
Get the **** out of here.
Cut Gray
We have Charles & Davis.
Gray and UDFA RBs can compete for the 3rd spot. No reason to draft anyone or spend FA $$ on a RB. Guys I'd target as UDFA's: Rajon Neal, Tennessee Isaiah Crowell*, Alabama State James White, Wisconsin Henry Josey*, Mizzou Silas Redd, USC Michael Dyer*, Louisville *if they declare |
I really like Robert Godhigh from Georgia Tech. Right now he is projected as either a late round pick or to go undrafted because he is 5'7" and 190 lbs. He has great hands and can catch. He has good speed and he runs hard. He would be perfect for our offense. He reminds me of Warrick Dunn.
