My votes in an easy heat:

#1 - Deliverance. Tell me how this scene could be any better. It's got good music, freaky people, and a pleasant wooded setting.

#2 - Die Hard. I've never seen any of the Die Hard movies, but I like this scene.

#3 - Unforgiven. Lots of shooting, and you can't tell why in this scene. Yawn.

Unforgiven

I'm going to make my pitch against Unforgiven here.

We're judging favorite scenes. You can't tell what's going on in this scene, and there's not much dialogue to explain it. Who's the good guy? Who's the bad guy? A person watching this scene has no idea. There's just a bunch of people getting shot in bad lighting.

The early returns are shocking me. Deliverance should be running away with this. Banjo, people! Banjo!

This is a very bad and invalid point you are trying to make Rain Man. If you watch just the scene in Die Hard you wouldn't know why that person is jumping off a building with a helicopter shooting at him or why the top gets blown up. Why are the kids playing banjoes? Every scene in movies is part of a movie but to appreciate most scenes need to watch the movie it was in.

You can make that same statement on asking why for every clip in this contest.

But jumping off a roof is entertaining. Hearing a banjo is entertaining. These are good clips to watch in and of themselves. Unforgiven is just a guy shooting people.

I'm really hoping for a big Deliverance rally here. The tournament needs Deliverance.

Well, he says that the owner decorated the saloon with his friend. There's a corpse outside being used in a display. That should be fairly obvious. As he walks in there is a man talking about forming a group and hunting someone. I think it is safe to assume that he is the someone that they are planning to hunt. That explains the two main targets in the scene. Everyone else is just in the way.

Wait, they're hunting humans? Maybe I should give this movie another chance.

Well, this one got a lot closer as time went on, but we'll give the win to Die Hard.

And I bid a sad farewell to Deliverance Boy and his banjo.
