NFBT - Boxing - what do people think of Gennady Golovkin
Dude is making an early splash with GIF-worthy beatdowns. Is he tin-canning it, or is he at the dawn of a new era in boxing. Does boxing even matter any more.
Hey, it's not an Alex thread, so there's that. http://cdn0.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1686455/1.gif http://cdn1.sbnation.com/assets/3501103/gggg2.gif http://www.abload.de/img/gggbckk0d.gif One of the more impressive GIFs, knocks opponent out directly off the opponent's best shot at him http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/...uu1sygbogl.gif 10 sec into 2nd round this weekend. The knock on him is that he has fought a bunch of chumps.
He's also pretty old to be the "dawn of a new era". We won't know how good he is until he gets a fight against Cotto or Alvarez. |
nb4 Marco Antonio Rubio is a good boxer.
Rubio was a good opponent but he's old with a ton of fights under his belt. |

If he doesn't fight Cotto, Chavez (who he would beat the shit out of), or Alvarez by September of next year then yea they're probably ducking him. |
I enjoy watching ggg fight but I think he's a little overrated, hes a little basic, but he does have ridiculous power in both hands. I really wanna see him fight ward, or cotto.

Boxing is rigged.

I don't think his footworks all that either. I also think he fights overly aggressive. the guy is always on kill mode and leaves himself open for counters a lot. I also think ward mops him up. I think cottos slick enough to outbox him, but I do worry about ggg being too big and strong for him . I'd love to see it though.
