Those that have said Cutler is better than Alex Smith.

Cutler now has more INTs this season than Alex has in the last two seasons combined. Cutler has Alshon Jefferey, Brandon Marshall, and Matt Forte.
Cutler has a huge arm but the rest is just shit.

...are simply retarted.

L.A. Chieffan 12-17-2014 11:55 AM

Everybody said that, except for me. I was laughed at when I told everyone we had a better qb than Cutler

ToxSocks 12-17-2014 11:55 AM

Well now. This is certainly a thought provoking thread that won't end up as another Alex bash session.

I'm not the biggest Smith fan in the world, he certainly has limitations. I would rather have Smith over Cutler, simply for consistency. Cutler is undisciplined, and that leads to too many mistakes. Give me Alex and his limited arm over the big arm small brain of Cutler any day of the week, especially on Sunday.

Chief Roundup 12-17-2014 12:52 PM

I didn't want Cutler either. I thought Smith would be better overall but still had limitations that would have to be overcome.

Why Not? 12-17-2014 12:53 PM

Would rather have Alex Tanney over Cutler

There are about 7-10 guys that play QB in the NFL that truly distance themselves from the Cutler/Flacco/Smith tier.

The Cutler/Flacco/Smith tier are guys that all have excellent strengths and are held back due to 1 or several FATAL flaws that will pretty much prevent them from ever establishing continued playoff dominance or success unless the stars align perfectly like they did 1 season for Joe "I'm terrible at QB" Flacco.

Can we just get someone better then?

Maybe, but you might get someone worse? It is a roll of the dice. I didn't say it was or wasn't worth the roll.

If we had those weapons on the outside Smith and this offense might look quite a bit different. MIGHT not sure if Andy or Smith would want to affective use those weapons.

They wouldn't be thrown to unless they were cool with just running slants all day.

Cutler/Smith; you say shitbag, I say bag o' shit. Cutler is melting down in impressive fashion this second half of the season.

Hammock Parties 12-17-2014 03:40 PM

Cutler has a lower floor, but a higher ceiling

Alex just hovers around the mean, constantly

No risk, no reward
