I realize this makes many Bears' fans happy, but you have to wonder what the point is really. Are they going to eat that contract and let him go?
You just told the league you're really not happy and now you're limiting your trade value - that is if you think you can find a trading partner for that contract. I think the Bears screwed up with Trestman. What has he ever done? Lots of issues on that team. Cutler certainly isn't a leader, but you knew that at this time last year when you backed up the Brinks truck with that contract. I think you cut your losses, admit your stuck with him and go hire Mike Shanahan... who knows if it would work, but he's a Cutler fan and knows how to win. There's solid talent on that team... Cutler "is what he is" at this point, but that doesn't mean you can't improve. |

Honestly, the Bears are stuck with Cutler - might as well try to make the most of it with a guy that drafted Cutler and Marshall. It's not like Shanahan sucks at coaching. It didn't work out in Washington - oh well. Shanahan had a pretty good team (solid ground game, decent defense) with Jake Plummer in Denver. Can he do that with CHI? Maybe. |
