Hope Ballard isn't all that important.

TribalElder 12-31-2014 05:44 PM

Didn't the Bears learn their lesson about chiefs scraps already

OnTheWarpath15 12-31-2014 05:50 PM

I'm wondering when DeCosta finally makes his move.

If they lose Ballard I hope Dorsey gets an asst GM with a cap/contracts background. He'll even if they keep Ballard

Don't know who made what decisions on pro personnel, but after the first rush of players brought in (which I'm guessing was more Dorsey), we've made some excellent moves on pro personnel. Could end up being a big loss.

Feel bad for Eagles fans. Chip Kelly seems like a completely dick to work with. He's going to drive everyone off then bail on Philly the minute he finds a college deal he likes.

I should know this given that this time last year I was wondering how to such a role a career, but without knowing for certain, pro personnel is likely in charge of scouting likely NFL free agents as well as any CFL/AFL talent that the area scouts might have taken tabs on in the draft process. I'd guess Pro Personnel guy forms a top list of professional players that would best suit the team and then presents these players to the GM for ultimate consideration.

Yeah, I knew that much. Moreso wondering what pro personnel calls were Dorsey's and which were Ballard's. I'm guessing a lot of the under-the-radar moves, which are the moves we excelled in, were Ballard's. If that's the case, I hope we don't get worse at pro personnel. Could be a big loss.

As long as it's not Idzek. Who is actually more of a business guy who thinks he can scout. That guy's a turd

Direckshun 12-31-2014 06:07 PM

The Chiefsification of the Bears continues?

In order of chain of command on pro side
Dorsey
Ballard
Will Lewis
Mike Borgonzi
Randy Ball

Brett Veach is Reid's scout who he brought from Philly. He's basically an analyst for all personnel

Heard some scuttlebutt about this last week I think. Can't say that I know enough about it to give a thumbs up or down.

Looking forward to reading what everyone thinks.

He turned down the Bucs last year. The Bucs wanted him but he turned down their request.
