Help Me Pick the Next Blowfish Mobile!

Well, Mr. Jeep is on his last legs. Time to find a new ride. I've driven Jeep Grand Cherokees since 1993. My current is a 2002 with 248,000 miles, and stuff keeps breaking, so time to bail out.

Looking to spend around $25 Grand, and think I can do a Jeep Grand that's maybe 2 or 3 years old for that.

My brother in law has a Ford Edge and really likes it. Don't know if I can swing a brand new car, even thought the financing would be much lower than used.

Any advice as to SUV models I should look at? I don't care about car color, I'm not towing anything, all I care about is will it go through the snow (4x4 or AWD) and I'd like to get heated seats this time.

What say you?

And, for you CPers who work for car dealers, you can PM me if you like, as long as you're in the KC Area, I'll consider what you have to say.

The last car my wife and I bought was from a CPer and it was a very satisfactory transaction.

Can you help a brother out???

Otter has a Toyota Tacoma he'll sell you.

Love my Subaru Forester. All Subies are 4x4s and I'm getting around 27-28 mpg (combined, but mostly city driving). You can easily get a new 2015 model for what you're looking to spend (heated seats too). BTW, this is my 3rd Forester, and we've had nary a problem with em.

I bought a 2010 Silverado with 19000 miles this winter for $30,000. I can't remember the trim package, SLE I think. Leather, backup camera, etc.

Anyway, I'd do that shit again in a heartbeat. I'm using it for different things you would be, but it had a tonneau cover on it and would work well for what you are after.

The 2014s have a new body style, making the older ones cheaper. Dad has a 2008 and beat the **** out of it and it is still running strong. I'd recommend that route.

I owned a Chevy once, and I'll never buy another one. It rusted out in four years.

I kinda like the Subaru, and I am a closet lesbian....

Suit yourself. FWIW, if mine had been rusted out in 4 years, it would be rusted out now.

Something else must have been going on. My 97 doesn't have a bit of rust anywhere.

I don't know what he had. I know the ones from the 80's rusted hard.

Yeah, you might have to endure the stigma, but you'd be getting a really great "around town" vehicle. If you haven't given one a test drive, I'd recommend it as it's pretty peppy and the visibility from inside is awesome. Highly recommend.....ESPECIALLY for closet lesbians!

Well nothing rusts out in 4 years without some serious help. Some of the worst, short time rusting, was the 99-02 that I have seen. It was a design issue that GM fixed.

I'd stick with a Jeep. I have a 96' Cherokee with 353,000 miles on it. It's a little rough around the edges but still runs like a top.

You need a slick, black Cadillac.

Wrong. Subaru's are AWD. No where near the same thing as a 4x4.
