Kansas City Chiefs QB Alex Smith has been focusing on footwork and technique this offseason, particularly with his downfield passes. "For me, footwork is something that never goes away," Smith said. "You're constantly trying to get better with your feet."

Fantasy Tip: Even if he betters his footwork and vertical game, there has not been a season yet where Smith has performed as a starting fantasy quarterback. The addition of Jeremy Maclin and the up-and-coming status of Travis Kelce are nice, but Smith is a backup fantasy quarterback.

He's got a couple weapons, Jamaal Charles and a decent o-line. We really need to see improvement in the passing game this year.

Brees is known for having the best footwork in the league, and Haley wants Cassel as close to that as possible. Haley asks some of the same things of Cassel that Sean Payton asks of Brees. Haley and Payton were co-workers in Dallas.

I still think it's more hype than substance with Jeremy Maclin coming to KC. I want to be proven wrong with him having good & great games all season long not just a few here and there.
