Can Weddle replace Berry?
Weddle had a down season playing on a horrendous San Diego defensive roster but the man is a proven product and is hungry for a title. Berry on the other hand seems to be $$ driven and is showing no signs of giving us a home team discount with the rumors going around the NFL. I find that disappointing given how the organization stood by him during his illness. Despite being 'comeback player of the year' his game footage was actually quite mediocre with only 55 tackles, poor coverage of tight ends, and oftentimes late to help corners on deep routes.
For 2 years, $12 million...I can't help but think that Weddle would be a great fit in this defense* and gives us adequate time to draft a long term replacement. This also gives us the ability to retain Howard and spend money on either Sean Smith or a free agent corner/linebacker. Weddle, Poe, Howard, Houston, Peters would be a helluva lineup! |
WTF is this shit?

A non-homer take on the state of the Chiefs.

Yeah, I've always liked Weddle. The price would be the factor. Reasonable price? Bring him in for a look...

Berry is no where on the level of Earl Thomas. Maybe in his prime. And if last season is his idea of a "contract year" level performance, I can only fear what sub-par performance he would put up just to stay healthy and collect checks. He also benefits HEAVILY from an excellent pass rush and good corners.
Weddle is in on the play every. single. down. The guy since college has been an absolute leader for his team and loves to tackle. I want to see us give Weddle his desire to beat the **** out of his former team. |

Justin Houston Jamaal Charles Derrick Johnson Eric Berry The list goes on and on. Your opinions are never anything more than finding ways the Chiefs can save money by replacing their best players with shittier players when they don't need to make such a move. That's all you've ever ****ing done on here. |
Weddle is a great player, but not on the level of Berry.
I'd love to have both of them, though. |
