Anyone have AT&T Gigabyte internet?
I have been debating about signing up. Where I live (OP), Google won't be here for awhile. Tired of Time Warner.
|
I have the standard U-verse... the Gigabyte isn't available here off of Metcalf, yet.
|
I have it in Leawood. I get 700-800 down wired, about 80 or 90 wireless.
|
Does AT&T still have data caps?

Or maybe that's wired, I don't really know. |
If you hate TW, you're gonna love ATT. (haha)
Part of the agreement to get their fiber service is they can track all of your traffic. If you care about that, than it's something to keep in mind. ATT were a bunch of butt****ers near the end of my contract and had the stupidest ****ing procedure when I cancelled Uverse. They've gotten too big and have no clue what the **** they are doing. ATT had no clue how their own shit even worked. They also were ****ing stupid enough to leave the VRAD open so sprinkler systems could soak their shit day and night. They also put in a 250 gb data cap and had to turn around and not enforce it for years because they were clueless on how to get their usage monitoring system to work properly. I have even more stories of how ATT is a horrible reeruned self-destructive company. Run like hell. |

You probably have a level N wireless adapter.

However all my usage is wireless and the speed drops to some ridiculous low # at times. I complained and att&t came out and put some sort of a thingama jig from net gear. Helps some. |
Be thankful you have internet.
I moved into a new build three weeks ago. When I went to transfer phone/net, I was informed by Centurylink that they did not have service to my location (they did not have lines run to my house/in my development/connected to the outside world. So it would be at least two months before anything would be in. Comcast said the same thing. I think the subcontracter dropped the ball talking to the utilities. So I am using my mobile as my modem with Easyteather. Thank god I have an unlimited data plan on my phone. My wifes work is buying her a hotspot for her work, and I can get one for my kids chromebook through school. Any other hotspot or satellite comes with a data limit. I have two teenage girls. They use a ton of data. |
They are called deathstar for a reason. They will make sure everything works great for a few weeks. Then something always happens and your speed is never the same again.
Depending on your cell service and coverage, I would look at a hotspot. I keep hoping google will buy sprint, but has not happened yet. |
they sent me a letter that I downloaded an illegal copy of Legally Blonde. I dropped them
|
ATT keeps sending me emails and also flyers in my physical mail that they want me to switch to Uverse. Yet they only have 3mbps here. :shake:
