F150 console swap
Posted this in a Ford forum but who knows maybe i'll get lucky here.
Anyone here ever swapped out a bench seat/jump seat for a floor console in an F150? I have a 13 f150 i'm trying to do it to but I've run into a problem. |

With the amp there it doesn't allow enough clearance for a floor console to sit down on the bracket. There's like 500 threads on the f150 forums about it but I haven't seen a single one that mentioned the amp being in the way so i'm rather confused how people got around it. Considered relocating the amp but there isn't much room under the driver and psg seats |

I actually don't like the color scheme. I wish it was charcoal gray or blue |

Not only that but even if I could do it it would make the console sit at least 2 inches higher which isn't optimal arm rest height. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk |

Pack of 10 of these are like $3-4 https://d2pbmlo3fglvvr.cloudfront.ne...uL3vncpIx_.JPG https://www.zoro.com/value-brand-bum...34/i/G7504052/ |
Just saw your post on it bolting in from the side. Could you drill the console and bracket to make it bolt in from the top instead?
Also, try getting in touch with the guy here: http://www.f150forum.com/f38/middle-...e-swap-146672/ |
could you mount the amp inside the console?
|
One thing I was thinking about... maybe you could screw/bolt bumpers to the bottom of the console, then drill new holes in the side to bolt it up to the existing side bracket? Might do what you want. I've always installed amps under the back seat or on the back wall if a reg cab.

Well at least it isn't black.
Car stereo technology has gone too far. They should have gotten to the Pioneer Super Tuner and quit. Although it has been a while since a machine ate my favorite R.E.O. tape. One more question. Do you have TimBone on ignore? (asking for a friend) Dinny |

I could cut the bottom out of the console to leave room for the amp and then make some kind of new base for the inside of the console to protect the amp. Thanks |
