Why isn't Alex Smith running the ball ?
15 yards rushing in 5 games. WTF is going on, saving his legs for the playoffs er what.
|
Hip dysplacia.
Like a German Shepherd. |
He's older, he's probably been advised by Reid to stay in the pocket more this year, and defenses have taken that part of his game away
|
He is afraid that if he gets injured, that he will lose his job to Foles.
|
I think the coaches told him not to run so much.
only reason i can think of |
Well, All the above could be right. OK ,Thanks
|
Maybe he got a concussion that we don't know about and it freaked him out a little.

Did they thrown down some Lucky Charms on the field and recite an incantation? It would seem he's choosing not to do so, and that is highly weird. It was his greatest asset. |
I've been wondering this as well. During one of the games they (cameras) zoomed in on him continuing to mess with his foot or ankle and I thought they were going to explain some kind of discomfort there, but they never did.
This part of his game is oddly completely missing so far. Being a year older, one could expect there to be a lessening... but for it to be completely gone? It's odd. |
Defenses have probably decided to treat Alex like other running QBs who's legs are a stronger weapon than their arm. Make him beat defenses passing the ball from the pocket like they did with Vick etc.
Force Andy and Alex to go deep, which neither prefer to do. Every chance Reid gets he will go with the short stuff. Alex Smith won't go off Andy's dink/dunk script and generally avoids risk and takes the safer throw. Defenses know this and are keeping Alex Smith in the pocket and cover the short stuff. |

So again; what is REALLY going on? |
Concentrating on that deep ball...
|
A risk-averse QB who is a year older, and defenses might just be taking away the opportunity...'sall I got...
