Chiefs creating cap space

Field Yates

Source: the cap-tight Chiefs converted LS James Winchester's $500K roster bonus into a signing bonus, creating $400K in cap space.

Also rumor of Sorensons deal creating some room

penbrook 03-11-2017 10:53 AM

How much room? I don't think 500 K is gonna make a difference

The Franchise 03-11-2017 10:57 AM

Hopefully to sign Hodges

RunKC 03-11-2017 10:58 AM

It was mentioned on 810 radio that Sorenson's deal would create some room as well.

Gerald Hodges is in town and these moves are happening. Looks like they will offer him a deal.

Hopefully they are making that happen... he would be an upgrade to what we once had in Mauga

If Hodges plays with two cinder blocks strapped to his feet- he will still be faster than Mauga. :)

About time.

The thing with Hodges is, if you're bringing him in, you are bringing him in as the Mike. You have him be the middle of the field roamer in their typical cover 1 man. You aren't going to ask him to consistently man up running backs and tight ends.

So, if they sign him, they have to either expect DJ back, or trust Ramik or another guy at Will. I just don't see Hodges at Will in this defense being successful. This is why Hasson Reddick still makes sense here, if they avoid QB in the 1st round.

Even if they secure a linebacker I still think they are going to draft one. Everyone on the roster currently has severe limitations whether it's speed, strength, or instinct.

We need a god damn homing missile that wants to kill running backs every single down.

LMAO keep wishing

His mental issues won't scare the Bengals off. No shot he nakes it to even the 20s, much less 27.

You guy that right. RBs could out run Mauga with no legs.

Our defense is fine. As are our special teams. Our o-line, WRs, and TEs are pretty good, too. RBs are just okay. I think that about covers the positions that are playing at a level that will enable playoff success.
