Andy Reid says it takes 3-4 years to learn his offense. Smith should have that in the bag now. I think the last part of Andy's install is the part where he teaches the QB to look downfield so this year all the pieces of Andy's complex puzzle are in place.

Plus Smiff is playing for a contract now.

We hear that every year in training camp. Every year. They even throw a few downfield in practice to get everyone's hopes up. But when the real bullets start flying, it's just not in Smith's DNA. Not gonna happen.

Smith's idea of "downfield" is anything that makes it past the line of scrimmage. It's simply not in his DNA (or ability for that matter) to throw downfield.
