In 2020, you’ve got Clowney, and options between Speaks and your rookie for the other passrusher, with the other guy in rotation. Maybe draft another dude high in 2020.

The fly in the ointment of this scenario is Eric Berry and his albatross contract. That would hold up Clowney coming here.

I'm agreeing with 3 of the 4 minus Clowney due to cost and injury risk though, as O.City pointed out.

I'm just not sure Clowney is an elite pass rusher. He's an elite run defender on the edge who has never shown he is an elite pass rusher.

I don't see Clowney making it out of Houston.

Yeah. They still have Watson on the cheap for another season or two, and they're going to try and keep the core of that defense together, I would imagine.
