Chiefs seats from upper level of Arrowhead on sale now.
|
Those prices. LMAO wow
|
So there's a really DUMB story behind the exorbitant prices and limited availability on these seats.
When they were taking them out to put in the new ones, the workers were PITCHING THEM OVER THE SIDE OF THE STADIUM. Aside from that being incredibly dangerous and potentially lawsuit-inducing, it BUSTED a lot of the seats. From my understanding some were completely shattered beyond repair, which is why you only see 2,500 for sale. The other thing that happened is they realized - oh shit, we need to sell these broken seats. So the ones they could salvage, they HAD THEM SHIPPED OFF TO GET REPAIRED. So they had to pay for shipping BOTH ways AND the repairs. And now you get extremely expensive souvenir seats. The Chiefs also were going to sell them themselves and keep all the money until Jackson County stepped in and were like "uh, nah, our Stadium, our seats." Now, I'm not sure who is more responsible for the seats being completely raped by incompetent workers - the Chiefs or Jackson County - but if someone hadn't been an idiot about it I'm guessing a seat would be $100 at most. |
You had one job...................
That sucks. I have no idea how many seats they could sell. But how stupid of the workers. |
There was a story about the seats on KMBC last night and they showed a pile of seats that couldn't be salvaged. I don't remember how many they said were removed, but I thought to myself that 2500 was a pretty small amount. Now that Clay wrote why, I understand. I'll bet they sell all of them, though.

Why sell 50,000 seats when you can sell 2500 for the same total? When the workers supposedly "destroyed" those seats, they drove up demand, hence the price. It takes a lot less work and cost to sell fewer seats. |
That would be pretty neat to have though, if you had a cool Chiefs man cave. To say you’re sitting in stadium seats watching the game at home. Too bad my basement looks like a daycare instead. #lifegoals
When I lived in southern Indiana there was a guy that came up to me at a restaurant because we both had Chiefs shirts on and told me about this awesome chiefs basement he had that looked like the Chiefs locker room. Said he took a tour of Arrowhead and got the idea. Couple years later I saw the house for sale on Zillow and got to see the pictures. It was really awesome. Not a lot of people in southern Indiana that was problem excited about it when they went to look at the house for sale lol |
I order two pair, four total. Still don't know what I'm going to do with them but I'll figure it out.
|
They sell them for that price because that's what people will pay for them. It's called the free market.
