Let’s talk about the Miami Dolphins

Headed down to a familiar location for the Florida heat and a highly formidable opponent.

The Dolphins have a great defense, a mediocre at best offense. Not all that different from Denver really, but coached better.

A win would clinch the AFCW for the 5th straight season, so there is some added importance. Of course we are on Pittsburgh’s heels, too.

I think we all aren’t totally sure what to make of the team at this point. They’ve been inconsistent in their focus, their execution. There seem to be problem areas that could be upgraded by simply plugging a backup in (hi, Wis), but it remains to be seen if any changes are going to be made.

It’s a weird league where outcomes are all over the place, winning is really damn hard, but they’re still 11-1 and largely look to be on cruise control half the time. I do think there’s something to be said for the GS Warriors comparison where sometimes they just don’t flip the switch until they have to. I guess we will see what happens as the games get bigger and bigger for this team.

This one won’t be easy, but if the offense comes out locked in from the go, it shouldn’t be a scare. I also think it’s another opportunity for the defense to perform well again, but I still feel like we need more from our pass rush along the DL moving forward.

Game is at noon on CBS...

They have a good defense but so did Tampa. I think they are worse with Tua starting. They are like Baltimore Lite. But if you are a dolphins fan you have to be happy with the direction the team is going.

I look for them to attack the Chiefs offense like Belichick does — Flores was there in 2018. They also have a good set of corners that allows them to play man coverage a lot.

This could be another tough game. The good thing about winning ugly is the team should be prepared for adversity in the playoffs. If you steamroll everyone in the regular season, you might be caught off-guard at the first sign of adversity in the playoffs. 2019 Ravens are an example of that.

This team has some nasty warts they have to cauterize and they've got 1 month to do it.

On offense the short yardage situations on 3rd down and in the red zone have been absolute trash of late and there may be a couple of fixes that the team can feasibly do, such as giving Kilgore or Wisniewski a chance to earn the starting role at their respective position or Schwartz coming back and letting Remmers take over an IOL spot. Darrel Williams needs to take over the short yardage duties because Bell and CEH have not gotten it done with this OL.

Defensively they just need the production they've paid for from guys like (especially) Clark and Jones. If they can get back to their prior level of play we should be okay. Maybe figure out how to get Gay even more snaps and if Deandre Baker has a spot on the starting D.

This Dolphins team is much like the Broncos. I think it will be a similar game to last night.

They’re going to do some things, we’ve saw Andy pivot at starting positions late in the season the last couple years to hopefully improve the team. Just a matter of who and when.

I’m tired of the Gay excuses. Nothing makes sense to me there, Ben Niemann might know the playbook inside and out but he still sucks the fat one, he’s basically an orange cone out there. Mathieu has strung together his best two game stretch the last two games which is highly encouraging because he was that dude for them late last season. Clark and Jones are both underperforming, and they don’t seem to get any help from others around them. We miss Charlton way more than we should.

We’re thru the “slog” of the season. Beating division opponents twice isn’t easy. Take wins when you get them and move on.

Usually I’m the worrier but I’m on the opposite side. I don’t give a damn about last nights game and how it looked. I said the same thing about Pitt beating the ravens on that weird week.

The chiefs won. End. Move on. None of it matters until they get to the playoffs. Figure some shit out I guess but again, get to January and go from there

I thought Jones played well last night?

Bell is a non factor with this OL. Maybe figure out if he can give you something playing the slot but running between the tackles ain't it with him.

The Andy Reid Chiefs have never lost a game in Florida. That continues this week and through the SB in Tampa!

Rookie QB. Spags will eat him alive.

This won't be close.

Kind of besides the point but Vegas actually favors the 49ers tonight over the Bills. Not much faith in our AFC competition, it seems. Titans are probably DOA in the playoffs too with that abysmal defense.

That's Vegas. The advanced analytics still favor the Bills slightly.

Of course, the advanced analytics favored the Titans heading into yesterday too. :(

Tua will carve our defense up
