Was that the setting for all of the time travel / time war in Enterprise? Been a while and I don't remember off the top of my head.

Why does that make you groan?

We now have Strange New Worlds set in the pre TOS era, Picard recently ended following up the TNG era, and Discovery went into the future.

Lower Decks, which is amazing and if you don't like it you are wrong, is post TNG era as well.

On top of that we are getting a Section 31 movie and we are getting a pre TOS movie which will be produced by the man that brought us the Deadpool movies, Logan, and SW: Rebels.

Paul Giamatti joins the cast...

I think they're going to look and sound like morons if they set it in the 32nd century.

No discernible differences in ship or technology advancements from the 24th century other than apparently everyone time travels like it's nothing.

It's one thing to jump a century+ from the original series into the TNG era. But practically a millennium? Gross.

What tech did you want to see improved upon?

Courtesy of the shit-show that was Discovery we have:

* Nacelles that are Quantum locked onto the ship and can be moved to change the configuration of the ship.

* more powerful tricorders that gave more information and could be imbedded in the person's eye

* they can now reliably use transwarp conduits and quantum slipstrerams

* the transporter has a much greater range now

* personal transporters on tri-com badges

* programmable matter

* weapons that appear in their hands on command vs holstered

---

Don't forget that "the burn" severely reduced the Federation's numbers thus it hacked at their ability to create a bunch of new tech. Hell, it also limited their movement thus materials were far more scarce.

For some reason... the Mirror Universe bothers me more than time travel.

The mirror universe episodes are silly (with all the initial changes to the timeline made by Spock there's no way all of the characters from the later shows would even exist, let alone be in the same place), but I still really enjoy them. I enjoy seeing evil versions of the goody two shoes characters and their various interactions. I also get the sense that the actors enjoy shelving the goody two shoes crap and chewing the scenery in over-the-top villainous roles. You could almost feel the joy of Nana Visitor playing the twisted pervert version of Kira. Hell, I wouldn't mind a series set in the mirror universe. Couldn't be any worse than Discovery.

I wanted a mirror universe spinoff as soon as I finished TOS episode Mirror, Mirror for the first time back in 1970-something.

The only things we know about it are two of the actors and the setting. A bit early to declare it shit, no?

Either way... we aren't the target audience for this series much like we weren't the target audience for Prodigy and most of you weren't the target audience for Lower Decks.

No. It sounds like a coming-of-age TV show set in a fictional college. There will be Trek window dressing to appropriate the established universe, and there will be nothing about it to provide storytelling opportunities like previous Trek shows. Hey, kids! Saved By The Bell...in space! But not really in space. Near San Francisco!
