Actually looks good. Love the throwback to the George Reeve/Fleischer superman look.

Man - is this another complete re-boot?

I just don't know how many times they can keep doing that.

I will give James Gunn enough rope to hang himself. I believe he was a part of the woke shit going on over at Marvel for a while now. I hope it will be really really good.

Technically the Routh Superman wasn’t a reboot so they’re really only contending with Cavill’s Man of Steel.

Showing Krypton, a GL, and Hawkgirl makes me believe this will drop us into an already-established universe..? That might help. I think we’re all tired of the Superman, Batman and Spider-Man origin stories.

It looks ok. Nothing we haven’t seen before. I loved Man of Steel.

Let’s not forget the how many TV shows!

He’s fairly boring if he isn’t portrayed as an alien trying to be human.

That being said, trailer looks cool with the appearances of other heroes and Lex and Krypto.

CGI looks bad.

I think that's why so many of these end up origin stories.

That story IS a good one. And has a lot of room for editorial license.

But apart from that, I gotta believe he's just awfully difficult to write for and so the stories can only do so much.

Just seen bits and pieces, but I heard that the last TV series was good. Superman and Lois

Precisely re: why there’s a lot of origin stories + difficulty of writing.

I also think Lex is a good foil to Superman, but I wouldn’t launch a franchise with him as a focal point. Brainiac/Zod would be a good start.
